The Adult Center of Prescott has been providing quality of health and life services to the senior community in our area for over 45 years. In 1983 we became a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the entire Prescott area with physical, mental and social activities designed to promote health, well-being, and vitality.
Today, we have grown to serve over 800 active aging members (ages 50-90) with many levels of exercise classes, line dancing, challenging brain games, seminars on health, diet, and safety, demonstrations in creative arts, and cultural exchange opportunities, all geared toward promoting physical, mental, and social health for adult viability. And this is not all! We schedule community events including wedding receptions, fund raisers, parties, all types of meetings including churches, political gatherings, and more.

from the Desk of Lucy Mason: Moving Forward
As we are all aware, the pandemic has caused major changes to our lives. Our patterns of socializing, interacting, shopping, dining out, exercising, conducting meetings - you name it - has all changed. Nevertheless, we have all learned and by now have become accustomed to new simple safety habits to help ourselves stay well.
As for the Adult Center of Prescott, we have also implemented safety and sanitizing standards on your behalf even with minimal access for limited meetings in order to follow Governor Ducey's Executive Orders and Yavapai County Health Dept. guidelines.
Nevertheless, work continues on our new kitchen, stage, and our most recent and biggest news is our fund raising efforts to build our new Ramada right next to the Adult Center.
Over the next next weeks you will be hearing and seeing more news about the importance of this fund raising effort. We are asking the community at large to step up and assist in this major fund raiser on behalf of the surrounding neighborhoods that by and large are families and active seniors who utilize the Adult Center of Prescott for exercise, seminars, brain games including Bridge and Bingo, several types of dance, meetings, and much more. However, since the mandated closures, our members have been shut in and shut out of activities that have kept them active and vibrant contributing citizens of the Prescott area. We hear complaints that this former energetic community can see and feel their physical and mental health declining.
We also understand the frustration the Prescott community of all ages who have wanted to schedule wedding receptions, quincinerras, and
celebrations of all kinds, meetings from from politics to board meetings, health and wellness seminars, and so much more.
Well documented clear evidence from research institutions across the country validates the importance of physical, mental, and social activities on the individual and aging population. Further, research documents the results of inactivity especially on the aging population that creates significant demands on hospitals in unplanned surgeries, and drives up local community health care costs.
Please be reassured that the Adult Center of Prescott is continuing to work non-stop to reopen as soon as possible to offer new activities, social gatherings, scheduling events as well as all the former popular activities inside and outside in the coming new Ramada. Of course, we will follow all state and county safety guidelines and limitations to present a safe clean surroundings.
In the meantime, our fund raising goal is to build a brand new outdoor Ramada.
